My hard work has finally paid off. Last week was a little overwhelming, considering the overload of schoolwork and homework I had to do, but in the end looking back… Actually no, it is still overwhelming. :D….

It all started as a normal monday, I arrived at the shelter 20 minutes late, because it is quite far from my school, and started working right away. Okay. Maybe not right away, I said hi to my bubbies first, gave them some kisses (especially Remus and Pammy), and then started working. After feeding they told me that we are going to things differently, because it might work a little faster. I was waiting for Denver to come back and start taking the dogs out, one by one.

I was really surprised when she came back and told me that I was PROMOTED!!!!!! Volunteers usually cant hold or take out dogs, other than maybe puppies, but due to my respectful and responsible behavior, I can actually handle, take out, or help around with the dogs now. And however most of the time I’m still just cleaning, but I have way more interactions with the dogs than I did before.

My plan to work with some dogs one-on-one, which was also okayed by Judy on Wednesday, so now I just have to choose which dogs I want to work with/which dogs are compatible personality wise with the training plan.

It snowed yesterday, and since the roads are not perfectly safe yet, my school decided to do an e-learning day. I believe I was in my 5th period which was spanish, when my mom said “Hey Borcsa, There is a dog in our yard”. No, my parents did not surprise me with a puppy or something, but someone’s dog was on the run to discover the world. I don’t think I ever put my winter coat on that fast. I ran outside and I only stopped running in the street below us, where I saw the dog run. I note it is a lot easier to get from street to street for a small dog, than it is for me.

Luckily by the time I arrived down there, the dog was already in the lap of it’s very worried owner. I was Happy to see them cuddled up together, and as I walked home I was thinking how extremely dangerous the situation was for both the puppy and the people who happened to be on the icy road at that time.
