For the next couple of weeks, after my last update (Week 3) I worked with Libby for long hours each saturday. It was very heartwarming to see how she opened up and accepted me, into her life, just seeing how she looked up to me. Whenever she was unsure of how to act in a certain situation she looked up to me for guidance. As a young trainer, I might have made the mistake of letting her too close to me, as I got very emotionally attached to this dog. We would spend hours together just playing and I would give her affection, so she would trust me, and open up enough to know that training is not punishment, but a way of positive reinforcement. I barely had time to start the real training with her before her new family came to see her, and ended up falling in love with her.
As my first successful case, Libby will get a separate blog/vlog post explaining her situation, background and all my personal notes and training plan with her, so be tuned for the full story!
As for Sparky, training went really well, in just a month he mastered many skills, including loose leash walking, sitting when stopped in one place. I’ve just started to get into the next objective; off leash training, when on a Friday afternoon he got adopted.
Since Sparky’s training wasn’t as extensive as Libby’s I am still debating on a conclusion for his story, nevertheless, I wish him many happy days for his elderly years!

Pammy’s training kind of got pushed back, in the beginning, when Sparky and Libby took away most of my time, but after they both got adopted, I continued to give my attention to her. Pammy however is very a very energetic and puppy like dog. Her training was going very slowly, but despite her dislike for other dogs over the summer she found her forever home as well.
Over my summer vacation, I was in Europe, and visited some shelters, for a comparison vlog (coming later), and for the 2 months I was gone, it gave me a fresh idea about the work I want to do with the dogs here. I have new candidates for my training, and my project that I plan to extend even more this year.
Don’t forget to come back to see some of these new ideas!
